When it comes to the Telugu markets, Vijay has not had the best release platforms ever since Thuppakki happened. Some of the films like Theri and Bairavaa had a delayed release due to the demand for remake rights. Kaththi did not release in Andhra because it was later remade by Chiranjeevi. Films like Puli had a slightly delayed release due to few issues. So Vijay fans in that part of the country have recently been left with some level of dissatisfaction as they could not catch their favourite star’s film first.

But we hear that Mersal’s Telugu version will apparently be releasing for Diwali along with its Tamil version. Thenandal Studios Ltd will release the film in Telugu through Northstar Entertainment’s Sharrath Marar. In the past, this production banner had produced big films like Katamarayudu and Sardar Gabbar Singh. Mersal will be released in Telugu as Adhirinidhi.
