Popular actor Nivin Pauly is working in Gautham Ramachandran’s debut directorial, a remake of the Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandanthe. Although the film was said to be titled as Santa Maria and Avargal, an official word from the producer’s side has come on this subject now. The film is titled as Richie, the name of Nivin Pauly’s character in the film.
Director Gautham Ramachandran elaborates, “We had many discussions on the title. The film does have two leads in the form of Nivin and Natty. We all decided that Richie will be a catchy title which is the name of Nivin in the film.
Shooting is completely done and edit is also done. By tomorrow or the day after, we will have the final cut. I have a month of post-production left. Nivin took a lot of efforts to dub in Tamil and he has done a wonderful job. We still have two days of dubbing with him. We are planning to release the film in a couple of month’s time. We are getting good enquiries.
The songs are done and we will be recording in this week. There are four tracks composed by Ajaneesh who did the Kannada version.
I am thankful to my producers Anand Kumar and Vinod Shornur, prolific Malayalam film producers who are bankrolling Richie under the banner of Yes Cinema Company. Between the two, they have made around 30-40 films, the notable ones being Vadakkan Selfie and Jacobinte Swargarajyam. Anand has done a lot of award winning films such as Beautiful.
The team is so excited and we are sure the audiences are going to have a never-before-seen experience as regards Richie”.
We wish you the best Gautham!
