OFFICIAL: JAYALALITHA BIOPIC ANNOUNCED - THIS LEADING ACTRESS TO PLAY THE LEAD

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha passed away on this same day (December 5), two years back, and it is indeed an important day in the history of Tamil Nadu politics. On her second year death anniversary, the official announcement on her biopic film has been made, along with the cast details.
 

It was already announced that director A.Priyadhaarshini would be making a biopic on Jayalalitha and the project was titled, 'The Iron Lady'. The makers have now released the first look poster of the film. Nithya Menon would be essaying the role of the late Chief Minister, which is expected to showcase important incidents from the life of Jayalalitha.

It is also rumoured that Varalaxmi Sarathkumar could be playing an important role in the film, however, an official confirmation is awaited. The Iron Lady featuring Nithya Menon in the lead role, will be Priyadhaarshini's second directorial, who is currently working on her debut film, Shakthi, starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.

Meanwhile, directors like Bharathiraja, Vijay, and Lingusamy are also in contention to make a biopic on Jayalalitha and let's have to wait for few more months to get more clarity on each of their projects.
