As we all know, Karthik Subbaraj's Mercury released yesterday all over the world, except in Tamil Nadu, due to the ongoing Tamil cinema strike. But the sad part is, pirated prints of Mercury is available online already.
Nikilesh Surya of Rohini Silverscreen considers today (April 14 - Tamil New Year) as the darkest day ever for Tamil cinema. His latest tweet reads as follows. "Our stand that piracy stems from movies being released abroad stays vindicated as #Mercury without being released in a single TN theatre is out on Tamil rockers here on the very same day!
Darkest ever day for Tamil Cinema as the highest attendance is for a Malayalam movie in cinema halls today. Hope sanity prevails and normalcy restored soon 🙏"
