We are just 5 days away from the release of Mersal. Though there are a few issues still left to be taken care, fans and theatre owners are confident of Mersal's release. Rohini Silver Screens happens to be the very first theatre in the whole of Tamil Nadu to begin bookings for the film.
The exhibitor had announced that the theatre booking would be open by today, 14th October at 9.00 AM. Vijay fans have been waiting in long queues since early morning today to get Mersal tickets.
Executive Director of Rohini Silver Screens, Nikilesh Surya tweets about the response and also shared few details that Vijay fans need to know:
"Online bookings for first day shows will be live today. Buy first preference is always for fans who travel all the way to get tickets! Cannot do simultaneous as online tickets will be sold in 4-5 minutes. Can't satisfy fans at the counter. So please be patient.
Queue formed from our ticket counter all the wayupto Koyambedu metro station to get #Mersal tickets! Star power of #Thalapathy 🔥🔥🔥🙏Very sorry chennai. #ThalapathyFans have caused a mini traffic jam here at Koyambedu!!

It is most exciting to know that Vijay’s Mersal will be releasing for this year’s Diwali. The first day of its run is expected to have numerous shows planned between the screens of theatres. However, the runtime of Mersal seems to be on the higher side. Talking to us about this was Nikilesh Surya of Rohini Silver Screens:
“The demand for Vijay’s Mersal is unimaginable and we are super excited about its release for Diwali 17’. But Mersal’s run time is around 2hours 46 minutes which makes it slightly longer than Vivegam (2 hours 28 minutes).
On the first day, we will plan and fit in maximum number of shows as possible for Mersal but it will be one show less than Vivegam on this first day. However there will be no break for 2 days straight and it is going to be a cracker of a Diwali with Mersal’s release!”
Nikilesh also posted through his Twitter, “Long run time being a hindrance in planning shows. Nevertheless maximum shows with no break for 2 days straight @rohinisilverscr!”
