It is a well known fact that the situation is grim for the Tamil film industry with the new releases being held back. The movies that have been running in all the theatres across TN are Karuppan, Spyder and Hara Hara Mahadevaki with Mersal’s release just a week away. In an exclusive chat with Behindwoods, Nikilesh Surya of Rohini Silver Screens shared his views:
“Just like in all theatres, we at Rohini Silver Screens also have a really bad situation with the new releases being held back from release. Hara Hara Mahadevaki did well in its first week as it is for youngsters and Karuppan is the only movie doing average business as it is for the family audiences.
If Mersal releases as planned, it will boost up things by 20-30 percent. However, the confirmation is awaited and a lot depends on it. This Diwali will be a dead one if no movie releases for the festival. Really hope the situation changes for the better.”
