Director Suseenthiran's latest film Nenjil Thunivirundhal, starring Sundeep Kishan and Vikranth, has not been receiving great reviews by critics. Many reviews found the portions of Mehreen, the film's heroine, laggy and less than convincing.
Therefore, Suseenthiran has announced a brave move of trimming her portions, as well as a few other scenes from the movie. This sort of removal of scenes from a film post its release has rarely been done before.
The director also publicly apologized to the heroine for having deleted her parts. He added that this move is to increase the film's pace and to give it a sense of direction prior to the intermission.
Nenjil Thunivirundhal, the latest directorial by Suseenthiran and starring Sundeep Kishan and Vikranth, has almost hit the theatres. Legendary lyricist Vairamuthu, who has penned the lyrics for two songs in the film, has spoken about the director as well as the core messages of the film.
Praising Suseenthiran, he said, "Suseenthiran is a hardworking creator who makes it a point to have societal messages in his films. Just like his earlier successes, Nenjil Thunivirundhal will also be one. The message that only qualified individuals must be at the helm, be it politics, government, arts, medicine, education or any other field, is strongly portrayed in this film."
This has raised expectations about the film.
