Regarding Vijay’s reaction to Beast’s first look, Nelson said, “He didn’t say anything first. He is silent and observes. How will he speak about his own film? One doesn’t know whether he likes or not. He doesn’t react much and is subtle. It takes time to crack his reactions. One is left confused. After I asked him, two-three times, he said it’s nice only. He is a calm person off screen and doesn’t react much.”

On his favourite scene starring Vijay in a comic sense, he picked Friends. “That stretch involving Vadivelu falling into a barrel and Vijay alone laughing uncontrollably. It looks very genuine and that’s how he laughs in real life when he has an outburst of laughter.”
