Mookuthi Amman is bankrolled by Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Films International. RJ Balaji has written the story, screenplay, dialogues and will also be directing the same with NJ Saravanan. The film is touted to be a Summer 2020 release. The shoot of the film commenced at Nagercoil.

In case, you recall, RJ Balaji had turned screenwriter for his last venture, LKG, a political satire, which also starred the actor in the lead role along with Priya Anand while Nanjil Sampath and late JK Ritesh played important roles.
