STANDING OVATION FOR NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI AT CANNES

Raman Raghav 2.0  is ace director Anurag Kashyap’s portrayal of the serial killer who went by the same name. Raman was a psychotic killer who went on a murder spree in Mumbai during the 1960s. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who's known for his realistic portrayal of such roles, was roped in to play the role of Raman.
 

The film which will be released on June 24th was screened at the 69th Cannes film festival which commenced recently. The movie opened to a full house according to a tweet by the director which read : “First screening has begun...House is full...hmmm.”
 

The film was reviewed positively by the elitist critics at Cannes and Siddiqui’s portrayal of the serial killer was widely acclaimed. In a clip shared by the actor for whom it’s the 8th film being screened at Cannes, he is seen entering the theatre to an unending cheer of the crowd amidst standing ovation. This has certainly upped the expectations for this film by degrees.
