SISTER'S SURPRISE TO THE BOYS MAN!

Music director Thaman’s sister, Yamini makes her debut as a playback singer for the Anjali starrer, bilingual project Yaar Nee/ Chitrangada. “I am very happy to debut for Selva anna and Swaminathan. This is more than a perfect entry I could have dreamt of” says Yamini while contacted.

When inquired about why she is yet to croon for her brother, Yamini says, “If a particular track is composed by him and if he thinks that my voice is the appropriate one, he would make sure I record it for him. I am waiting for that opportunity. In fact, I have just started to explore the musicality in me though I have grown up with music. I have more of a bhajan background as I did my schooling in Puttaparthi. Film singing is an ocean and i'm thrilled as my exploration has started.”

Yamini has rendered her voice for both the Tamil and Telugu version of the song which will be a  romantic number with a pathos feel. “I want to sing some upbeat, crazy numbers though melody might be the comfort zone for my kind of voice. End of the day, if my voice suits a particular track and if the music director, director and cast are satisfied, I am glad and my purpose is met.”

We learn that Yamini has maintained this move of hers as a surprise for her brother who only yesterday, the 15 of February came to know about this venture of hers. Apparetly, Thaman is looking forward to listening to this particular track.  

Yaar Nee is directed by debutant Ashok which will be the father-son duo, V Selvaganesh and Swaminathan's musical.
