"YOU ARE INDIAN ONLY IF....!" - MILIND SOMAN'S WIFE ANKITA'S ANGRY POST SPARKS DEBATE! WHAT HAPPENED?

Milind Soman's wife Ankita Konwar has expressed displeasure over the discrimination faced by the people of North Eastern states in India. She posted an angry message about this issue saying that she herself had experienced this discrimination from people from other communities, especially people from other states of the country. This message of her has come post the winning of a Silver Medal by Manipur's (a state from the North-East) Mirabai Chanu in the ongoing Tokyo Olympic games, and the celebration and grand welcome that she is receiving on her return from Japan.  

Ankita has said that the people of North Eastern states are considered Indian only when they bring medals for the country, pointing out Mirabai Chanu and Mary Kom, who won a bronze medal in the 2012 Olympics, and other North-Eastern state athletes.

But, it is to be noted that the Government of India is working tirelessly in bringing development to the North-Eastern states, and the Govt machinery is doing its best in safeguarding the sentiments and interests of the people from this region.

Ankita wrote on her handle, 'If you belong to the North-Eastern part of India, then you become an Indian only when you bring a medal for the country by winning. Otherwise we are known as 'Chinki', 'Chinese', 'Nepali' or the newly added 'Corona'. India is suffering not only from casteism but also from regionalism and apartheid.
