Amidst all the controversy surrounding Vijay's Mersal, its Telugu version Adirindhi has been gearing up for release for quite a while now. It is already days later than the proposed release date. When Prasoon Joshi, Chief of the Censor Board, was quizzed about it, he explained the situation.
He stated that Mersal will release in Telugu without any cuts at the insistence of the censor board. "The film's content should speak for itself and not the controversy. Telugu version of the film is exactly the same as its Tamil version", he said.
Asked whether the film will have any cuts, Mr. Joshi said: "None whatsoever."
This is good news for Adirindhi.
Reports about Mersal's record-breaking opening and collection records are all over the media. The film has indeed taken the box office by storm.
Now we bring to you the 10-day Chennai city collection report. According to the Behindwoods box-office wing, Mersal has collected an approximate Rs. 9.61 crores from its opening 10 days. This is a huge feat for the film.
