According to Behindwoods Box Office Wing, Vijay's Mersal has grossed around Rs 13.8 crore by the end of its third weekend at the Chennai City box office alone. The net amount would be considerably less due to the excessive tax rates compared to previous big releases of the past.
This is an estimated total and not the official figure. Mersal is now the second most grossing film in Chennai only behind Baahubali 2.
