It is a known fact that, actor Vishal, who heads both the Producer Council and Nadigar Sangam, was keen to contest the RK Nagar by-election and was considered one of the contestants before being told that he cannot contest. Talking about this to Behindwoods, Mansoor Ali Khan who was last seen in Velaikkaran said:
"Vishal’s move to contest in RK Nagar was sort of unnecessary. He didn’t even ask me before standing in the elections and I think I cannot comment on it much because he might have had some ideas for the people of RK Nagar, that I don’t know about. He has done some good things as the Producer Council head and also as the Nadigar Sangam head and youth have a very good energy and capacity.”
Vishal's Irumbu Thirai, directed by debutante P.S.Mithran, is one of the promising films of the year, which is scheduled for a 2018 Republic Day release, on January 26.
Now, it has been officially revealed that Vishal will be playing an army officer in the film, who is a Major. Vishal's character name in the film is, 'Major R.Kathiravan, IC41620L', who'd apparently be locking his horns against Action King Arjun, the baddie.
The film, which features Samantha as the female lead, has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by George.C.Williams and editing by Ruben.
