‘’SHE IS A GUTSY VILLAGE GIRL YOU CAN’T MESS AROUND’’

Manjima Mohan who captivated the hearts of movie-going populace with her very first film Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (AYM) is a part of many interesting projects. She has completed SR Prabhakaran’s Sathriyan which is awaiting its release. Her film with director Gaurav is nearing completion and she has signed another film under the direction of Muruganandam where Vishnu Vishal is the hero. Manjima explains about her films.

Vishnu Vishal’s film
I would say my character is very colorful in this film and I have not done like this before. AYM was colorful in the first half but becomes dark in the second half. This film is a very light subject and I am excited doing this as there is no negativity in the film. My character is not trying to be funny but she is originally funny, chirpy and lively. Finally, I get to play myself. We would be shooting soon.

Sathriyan
I have been getting a good response for Sathriyan’s trailer. People are shocked to see me like that. They love the girl-next-door looks of mine. Prabhakaran sir knows what he wants and I respect him a lot as a director. When he told me about this role, he stated that it would be a proper village character and that there would not be any compromise on the looks. People have told that my costumes are so identifiable and I should thank costume designer Poornima for this. She is also clear about my looks in the film. She gives me lots of space to do things that would be right for the role. As regards my character, she is a gutsy village girl who you can’t mess around.  You would have seen that in the trailer itself when my character calls for Vikram Prabhu. All of us are looking forward to the release.

Udhay-Gaurav’s film
We are almost done, nearing the finish line. We have a couple of days left to be shot. I always choose films based on the script. Gaurav’s film is a combination of making and script together and it has come out very well.
