Malayalam actor and accomplished Kathakali artist Jagannatha Varma, known for his roles in New Delhi, Lelam, Aaraam Thamburan and Pathram passed away on the 20th of December. He was taking treatment at a private hospital in Trivandrum for pneumonia.
A known face for Malayalam film goers, Jagannatha Varma had retired from Kerala Police as an SP and stepped into the film industry. He has acted in many Malayalam movies essaying stereotypical roles of a Senior Police Officer, a Judge or a Priest.
Famous Malayalam director Viji Thampi is Varma's son-in-law and accomplished Television actor Manu Varma is his son.
