POPULAR SENIOR ACTOR PASSES AWAY

Captain Raju, a military officer turned actor passed away today, September 17th at his residence in Kochi. Reports suggest that he suffered a stroke during a plane journey to New York and was admitted to a hospital in Muscat. Later he was brought back to Kochi for further treatment.

He was 68 years old and has acted in over 500 films in the languages of Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and English.

He predominantly worked in Malayalam film industry. Some of his notable Tamil films are Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupaadu, Chinnappadass, Dharmathin Thalaivan, Jallikattu, and Soora Samhaaram. Most of his works in Tamil were as a villain. Raju also appeared in television serials and advertisements in Malayalam.
