A lot of celebrities we know are passing away due to covid, across industries. Yesterday, we heard about the unfortunate demise of director Arunraja Kamaraj’s wife Sindhuja (38) and actor Nitish Veera (45) of Asuran fame.
Make-up artist Gangadhar, who has worked in the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi film industries for close to 25 years, passed away while undergoing treatment for covid at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
He had undergone a covid test post experiencing symptoms which got exacerbated by the time the test came back positive. Though, he was admitted to a hospital, his parameters started plummeting a few days post hospitalization.
"Ever since I started making movies, Gangadhar has been a part of my filmography. He used to be a constant right since the days of 'Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila'. He was not only a good friend but also a well-wisher. I can't believe that Gangadhar is no more. It feels like a family member has died," producer Bekkem Venugopal said, condoling the artist’s demise.
Writer Gopi Mohan tweeted, "Om Shanti…Condolence to his family. So sad…Our film industry lost many talents due to this covid pandemic. EveryOne Please take care (sic)."
A recipient of the prestigious Nandi award, Gangadhar’s last work happens to be Pagal. Actress Dhanya Balakrishna were among those who took to social media to pay their respects.
