We had reported yesterday that tenders for the construction of Nadigar Sangam building are being invited. We now have reports that say that the construction of the building at the Habibullah Road premises is served an interim stay by the Chennai High Court. A surveyor has been appointed to check the building and give his report.
This stay follows a petition that has been filed by Srirangan claiming that the site for the construction of Sangam building is encroaching 40 feet into public road. The bench consisting of Kripakaran and Parthiban had condemned Nadigar Sangam and also questioned how the corporation of Chennai had given permission for this.
