After the theater owners decided to go on an indefinite shutdown, many celebrities and commoners have tried to manifest their feelings about the effects of GST and the double taxation imposed by the Tamil Nadu State Government. Next in line is lyricist Madhan Karky.

''Disheartening to see cinema halls closed. Hope the tax is revised and the industry gets back on track. Until the revision, I am willing to reduce 15% off my remuneration for songs and dialogues, if that would help the industry.'', Said Karky on his Twitter page. By cutting 15% off his salary, he has put forth a kind gesture, which would most definitely help a few producers.
