Many celebrities and directors have tweeted in appreciation for the movie and have also praised the actors for their performance. The latest to join the bandwagon is Actor Suriya.

Suriya's tweet in Tamil roughly translates to: "Sarpatta Parambarai dealt with a story that has never been attempted before. The work of the director, actors and the entire film crew in encapsulating the lives of people in North Madras is amazing. My congratulations to the team."

Suriya also mentioned Music Director Santhosh Narayanan, Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions, actors Kalaiyarasan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, John Kokken and Dushara Vijayan calling their work "Great".

Actor Sivakarthikeyan too was all praise for the film and lauded the entire team. "Hats off to each and everyone involved. It's an amazing film pls don't miss it," he wrote.
