"VIJAY SIR HUGGED ME AND.."- LOKESH KANAGARAJ'S BREAKING UPDATES ON THALAPATHY 64, KAITHI 2 | BGM 2019

The director received the Behindwoods Gold Medals- Best Story and Screenplay for Kaithi, this year's Diwali release starring Karthi as lead. The film went on to become a blockbuster at the box office and was well-received by the audiences for its racy screenplay.

After receiving the award from legendary filmmaker and Vijay's father S.A. Chandrasekhar, the director was asked about Vijay's reaction when he saw Kaithi. Lokesh said "He hugged me after watching the film and spoke to me about the film for thirty minutes after watching the film. 

The director was posed with another million-dollar question- 'A recent update on Thalapathy 64?'. The question was even posed by SAC himself, for which Lokesh replied "Like Shankar sir said, we are currently in the third schedule of shoot." Lokesh Kanagaraj remarked that he will be making the sequel to Kaithi after finishing his present work-related commitments
