As reported earlier in the day, lightman Manimaaran has been seeking for compensation from Lightmen Association and Mani Ratnam for contracting an infection during the shooting of the film Guru back in 2006. Manimaaran has made complaints on two people, one Mani Ratnam and the other, Raman of Lightmen Association. We have already reported 2 stories, one based on Manimaaran’s version and the other after talking to our sources from Madras Talkies.

Now here we bring you the perspective of Raman, the Secretary of Lightmen Union. “Manimaaran is exploiting the situation and trying to create a sympathy for him. Yes, he went to labour court and won the case. The court ordered the union to pay 1 lakh rupees and not 2 lakhs like what he claims. We respected court’s decision and settled the issue amicably long back. We have a letter from him acknowledging the payment for 1 lakh.”
