Oscar winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood and not known to many is that he is an active environmentalist. Even DiCaprio's Oscar speech was about the climate change which is happening to our earth and he uses his social media to call out and inform the environmental troubles faced around the world.
Recently, Leonardo in his Instagram account, re-shared a BBC News article which explains the Chennai water crisis. The post caption contains important parts from the article as a paragraph, which is "Only rain can save Chennai from this situation." A well completely empty, and a city without water. The southern Indian city of Chennai is in crisis, after the four main water reservoirs ran completely dry.
The acute water shortage has forced the city to scramble for urgent solutions and residents have to stand in line for hours to get water from government tanks. As the water levels depleted, hotels and restaurants started to shut down temporarily, and the air con was turned off in the city's metro. Officials in the city continue to try and find alternative sources of water - but the community continue to pray for rain. ' Under the post, he has commented "We can Change the world !"
It is surprising and mostly saddening to know that the water crisis in Chennai is spreading worldwide, but many of the Chennai folks still do not understand the crisis faced and do not take effort to save whatever water is left in every way possible.
