Legendary singer, SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been captivating and winning millions of hearts across the world with his songs, acting skills and many more, had passed away on September 25, last year in Chennai.
This piece of news not only left everyone shocked and devastated but shattered as well. Now, the late singer has been posthumously awarded with India's second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan.
The legend was one among the 7 Padma Vibhushan awardees announced on January 25. In a career spanning over five decades, SPB won six National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer and 25 Nandi Awards in Telugu cinema.
He also held a Guinness World record for singing over 40,000 songs. His unparalleled contribution to Indian music was what made him stand unique and his sudden demise created a void in the Indian music industry.
