In a shocking turn of events, acclaimed director SP Jananathan who is known for helming films like Iyarkai, Peranmai, E, and Purampokku Enum Podhuvudamai, was rushed to the Apollo Hospital in Chennai yesterday (March 11) evening by his assistants.
It is said that he was found lying unconscious in his room by one of his assistants on Thursday. He was said to be overseeing the editing of his upcoming movie Laabam featuring Vijay Sethupathi and had gone home for lunch but did not return to the editing studio.
It is heard that the director is in very critical condition. Neuro surgeons are said to be examining him actor. Vijay Sethupathy, Directors Ameer and Karu Palaniappan had visited the hospital last night itself but were not allowed to meet him.
However, later VJS was allowed to see the director. SP Jananathan’s next upcoming film Laabam also features Shruti Haasan in the lead. The teaser of the film was released a couple of months ago and was well-received.
