MAA, LAKSHMI DIRECTOR'S FIRST FEATURE GETS A RELEASE DATE

Director KM Sarjun released a couple of short films last year - Lakshmi and Maa. The first film received mixed reviews partly because of the way, the character 'Lakshmi' was portrayed in this film. It received a lot of backlash from some sections of the society. The second one, titled Maa, opened to critical acclaim. Shortly after those 2 films, he bagged his first feature film - Echcharikkai. 

The film has completed the production and has got a release date. The Sathyaraj, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar starrer will release on August 24. Kishore and Vivek Rajagopal have also played crucial roles in this project. This venture is bankrolled by Timeline Pictures. The rights of the movie has been bagged by Clapboard Productions.

Another interesting update on the film is that actor Sivakarthikeyan will be releasing the trailer of the movie at 5pm today. The movie has a lot of expectations especially after the promising work Sarjun had shown in his short films. He has also bagged a movie with Nayanthara. Stay tuned for more updates on this project.
