Director Karthick Naren was a meagre 22 when he made his debut Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, and it neither seemed like he was amateur nor like it was a first. D16, as the film is also called, marked the entry of a promising talent into Kollywood.
The director is on his second film now, but remembered his first via a tweet in the early hours of today, December 29: "Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru' released on this day before one year. Heartfelt thanks to all the audiences, press & media for the continuous support. Humbled & grateful. Pain is temporary, film making is forever ❤️"
Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru aka D16 has been one of the finely made crime thrillers in Kollywood. The film had been praised by many leading celebrities from the industry, and the crew even celebrated the 75th day of the film yesterday (13th March).
Now, it looks like Malayalam star, Nivin Pauly has apparently seen the film at a special screening. Karthick Naren, officially confirmed this news, with his Facebook post, "Yesterday we arranged a special screening of #D16 for Nivin Pauly sir & he absolutely loved the film. Thank you for your support sir."
