Kanaa is Sivakarthikeyan's maiden production venture. The film is based on women's cricket and stars Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role while Sathyaraj plays an important supporting character.

Directed by Arunraja Kamaraj, Kanaa has music by Dhibu Ninan Thomas. The film's teaser and songs were well-received by the audience and they also went viral.
