Just in is Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan’s breaking statement about Mersal’s dialogues. Kamal posted on Twitter, “Mersal was certified. Dont re-censor it . Counter criticism with logical response. Don’t silence critics. India will shine when it speaks.”

Vijay’s Diwali release Mersal has started off massive at the box-office. With a dosage of comedy, mass moments and sentiment scenes, the film seems to be apt for family audiences. When we asked Tirupur Subramaniam about the collections in Coimbatore region in the first 2 days, he said that the film has collected a gross of Rs.5.29 crores approx in this region. Talking about this, he said:
“The collections for Mersal have been superb in Coimbatore region so far and has amassed about 5.29 crores in its 2 days of run. A lot of family audiences coming in is a big plus and the 5 day long weekend is working good for the film.”
