As the first phase of Coronavirus lockdown in India was supposed to come to an end by April 14, looking at the current increasing positive cases, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has requested the citizens not to step out of their homes and have extended the lockdown till May 3.
Hours after the announcement, more than 1000 migrant workers, who live on daily wages and have been stranded in Mumbai with no income for the last three weeks, gathered in protest demanding transport facilities to go back to their native places.
Taking to his Twitter, actor and politician, Kamal Haasan fumed up and said the migrant crisis is a time bomb that must be defused before it becomes a crisis bigger than the Covid-19 outbreak.
He wrote, “All the balcony people take a long and hard look at the ground. First it was Delhi, now Mumbai. The migrant crisis is a time bomb that must be defused before it becomes a crisis bigger than Corona. Balcony government must keep their eyes on what's happening on the ground too.”
