The statue of Sivaji Ganesan was removed yesterday from Kamarajar Salai near Marina Beach and moved to a newly built memorial place in Durgabai Deshmukh Road near Adyar. This shift happened overnight, which didn't go quite well with the film stars, opposition party leaders, and the public.
Kamal Haasan, a serious disciple of Sivaji, took to Twitter to share his thoughts on this.
This tweet is roughly translated as "Sivaji lived in the hearts of every single fan and a lot of aspiring Tamil actors. Let us make a new statue and protect it beyond the Government, my father."
