The event started with a dance performance from choreographer Sandy. Kamal entered in a white dhoti, and black shirt looking elite and began his speech by thanking the viewers. He has said that the show has received 85% of the viewers during its telecast and about 6.5 Crores viewers are watching the show, setting a new benchmark in the South Indian television history.
Kamal also said, "I was always proud of being part of many achievements and advancements in Tamil cinema's journey, the same way I'm very pleased now to know that I'm part of this big sensation happening in TV history."
We were among the first to report about Shankar teaming up with Kamal Haasan after 21 years for Indian 2. Though there were so many speculations till date, now we finally have an official word regarding this project.
Renowned Telugu producer Dil Raju's banner officially confirmed the news via Twitter, "Delighted to be associated with two stalwarts of Indian Cinema @ikamalhaasan and @shankarshanmugh for the prestigious project #Indian2".
