WHEN KAMAL HAASAN WAS NOMINATED FOR BEST ACTOR AND BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR FOR THE SAME FILM

Here’s the story. Dimple Kapadia and Rishi Kapoor were a hit pair in Bollywood. Kapadia had retired from acting post marriage to Rajesh Khanna, but when the same hit a roadblock, she decided to return to acting in Saagar (1985). The film brought back the hit pair of Bobby but unfortunately Kamal Haasan upstaged the other actors with his prolific acting.

Therefore, it came as no surprise that he was nominated for the Best Actor and the Best Supporting Actor categories for his performance in Saagar at the Filmfare Awards and walked away with the Best Actor trophy itself, Rishi Kapoor, all forgotten, no offense meant.

Cut to present, he has not only started his political journey with his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam but is also filming the eagerly awaited, Indian 2, which has been temporarily docked, owing to the lockdown.
