Jyothika and Karthi’s recent venture Thambi had hit the big screens on December 20 along with Sivakarthikeyan’s Hero. The film was opened to mixed responses. The film was directed by Jeethu Joseph of ‘Papanasam’ fame.
Apart from Jyothika and Karthi who were seen teaming up for the very first time in reel life, the film also featured Sowcar Janaki, Sathyaraj, Seetha, Nikhila Vimal, Anson Paul amongst others in important roles.
Presented by Viacom18 studios and produced by Parallel minds, the film’s music was composed by the '96' sensation Govind Vasantha. In the film, Karthi will be seen playing as an energetic youngster and brother to Jyothika while Sathyaraj and Seetha will be seen essaying the role of their father and mother respectively. Nikhila Vimal will be seen as the love interest of the actor.
After hearing the mixed responses, the makers have taken to their social media and announced that the film has been trimmed and made crispier and more engaging. Reports are doing rounds that the film’s length has been trimmed by 10 minutes and the revised version’s overall running time will be 2 hours and 19 minutes.
Adding to the merriness of this holiday season, you can enjoy a crispier version of your favourite #Thambi in theatres near you, from today! Thank you for all the love! 😊#Thambi #ThambiRunningSuccessfully #AJeethuJosephFilm @Karthi_offl #Jyotika #Sathyaraj #Surajsadanah
