Recent reports suggest that, director James Cameron who is working on his Avatar sequel, is simultaneously working on relaunching the Terminator franchise and also the original Sarah Connor. It is also said that Linda Hamilton will return to the Terminator franchise after 26 years.
According to Hollywood media, Cameron has reportedly announced recently that Linda Hamilton will return to the franchise and work alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. The last time that all three collaborated was in 1991, for Terminator 2: The Judgement Day.
James Cameron who directed Avatar and is also busy with it’s sequels, will team up with Arnold Schwarzenegger and take up the responsibility of producing the next film in the Terminator franchise.
Despite Terminator Genisys not performing too well, it is said that Terminator 6 will happen in the near future with Arnold teaming up with James Cameron as the producer. Reports suggest that Arnold told Hollywood media, “It is back and moving forward with some great ideas which will successfully continue the franchise.”
It is also said that Deadpool director Tim Miller will most probably direct this Terminator 6 venture. Skydance Media founder David Ellison is also said to be excited about this project that will see Arnold teaming up with the Avatar man James Cameron.
