Scottish actor Sean Connery, who is best known for his portrayal of James Bond in the spy films, has died aged 90. Connery passed away at the Bahamas peacefully in his sleep. He had apparently been unwell for some time, according to news reports.
Connery will be remembered first as British agent 007, the character created by novelist Ian Fleming which Connery played in films starting with "Dr. No" in 1962. "Bond - James Bond" - was his signature style of introduction.
He played as Bond in the movies “From Russia With Love" (1963), “Goldfinger" (1964), “Thunderball" (1965), “You Only Live Twice" (1967) and “Diamonds Are Forever" (1971). In 1983, Connery starred in one more Bond movie, “Never Say Never Again."
Apart from the same, he had done some remarkable roles such as in movies The Hunt for Red October, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Rock, while he won his Oscar for his role in the 1987 film The Untouchables.
