The heartthrob of Malayalam cinema, actor Dulquer Salmaan’s next big film up for release is ‘Kurup’ and fans have been quite a long time for this much-anticipated film. 'Kurup' is inspired by the infamous fugitive Sukumara Kurup, Kerala’s most wanted criminal. The film, which was postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is expected to release in the upcoming months and an official information is awaited from the makers.
Amidst a huge buzz, several rumours are doing rounds on social media regarding Dulquer Salmaan's role in the movie. Dismissing all of them, the ace-actor took to social media to pen a long post clarifying information about the film and stated that he will announce it at the right time."It is encouraging to see the buzz around Kurup and I'm really excited to bring the movie to you guys soon. However, there is a lot of fake information going around right now. When the time is right, you will get to watch the film and witness first hand who are doing cameos in Kurup."
He further wrote, "However, right now whatever is being spread is not true and I would sincerely request you to stop propagating this information. It isn't fair to the fans to have expectations and for us to disappointment."

‘Kurup’ is directed by Srinath Rajendran, who has previously worked with Dulquer Salmaan on ‘Second Show’. The film is produced by the actor’s production house Wayfarer Films along with M Star Entertainment.
‘Kurup’ is the biggest film in Dulquer Salmaan’s career till date with a budget of Rs 35 crores. The film has been extensively shot in Kerala, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Mangalore, Mysore and the UAE. The film has Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko, Sobhita Dhulipala, Manoj Bajpayee and Maya Menon in crucial roles. The story and dialogues have been penned by Jithin K Jose and the film is written by Daniel Sayooj Nair and KS Aravind. Sushin Shyam has signed the film as the music director.
