Nowadays a film's box office collections are also dependent on the 30% tax exemption provided by the government. Udhayanidhi Stalin's recently released Gethu was denied the exemption, mentioning the reason as the title not being a Tamil word.
As already reported, the producer/actor took to Twitter to prove that the move was unjustified. He posted a picture of the dictionary and said that it's a Tamil word with the meaning Thandhiram.
The case came up again and the certification committee stated that the right spelling is Kethu and not Gethu. Challenging them, the producer/actor moved the case to HC.
