IMAX screens usually cost a little higher than usual rates, for its special theatrical experience, specially designed screen and sound system. After the implementation of Local Entertainment tax and the base theatre ticket price increase, the IMAX screen in Jazz Cinemas was closed, as there wasn't any film available to be screened.
And now, the IMAX screen will reopen this Friday (27th October), with the film Geostorm (3D). The price for watching a film in IMAX will now cost 612 Rs per ticket. The split up is as follows:
Base ticket price - Rs. 552
3D glasses - Rs.30
Net Charges - Rs. 30
If it is a 2D film, then the ticket rates would be 582 Rs, inclusive of net charges and other taxes.
Jazz Cinemas, one of the popular multiplexes in Chennai City, has launched a concept called PLAYBACK. The idea of the concept is to screen a movie for all those who would want to watch their bygone favourite film back on-screen again and for those who missed watching it then. The film is selected based on an online voting in their mobile App.
Movies like Kaththi, Vaagai Sooda Va, and Madrasapattinam, featured in the list of films that were part of their recent poll. And as expected, Vijay’s Kaththi won the poll. Jazz Cinemas took to their Twitter to confirm the same, “A mass victory with a massive vote difference for our playback soul-toucher this month.”
Kaththi will be played in Jazz on the 27th of April. The tickets will be open for booking from the 17th.
