"He was a nobody. His ambition was to attach himself to a girl who was doing well and live that life. He wasn't a businessman. He mentally tortured her. Not just her, he had been flirting with other women as well. All those stories might come out," said Rekha.

"She wasn't back from a party or something. He could have consoled her. If someone is dying by suicide, it must be due to what he did," she said.

"Earlier also, Chitra had broken off a relationship. She was strong then. Why would she take such a step for a nobody like him?" Rekha said.

Rekha strongly believes that Hemnath just wanted a rich girl and truly didn't love her. "I think she didn't share much with her parents," Rekha added.

On the other hand, Hemnath's parents Ravichandran and Vasanta said that their son is not at fault and they had treated Chitra like her daughter. They added that they never asked Chitra's parents for anything.

In a recent interview with the press, they said that their son is not responsible for Chitra's death and the reason behind her act should come out and added that it is their plea.
