Gulaebhagavali, starring Prabhu Deva and Hansika, released yesterday - January 12, opening to a good start as a feel-good entertainer for the Pongal festival.
In an exclusive interview with us, the film's director Kalyan opened up about crucial aspects like how commercial films are looked at nowadays. He explained: "We have not tried to put forward any message as such with Gulaebhagavali. It is a film that will entertain a watcher for the money he spent. This is a film for Pongal.
It cannot be said that everyone will like the same aspect (of a movie). Some might like a film's songs, some the bgm, some the artists and so on...
In this scenario, if one uses one's brain alone to critique and judge a movie, going on to say that the imagination of the creator should have been this way and not that.. and sets a mark for what a film must be like.. It's not right."
