''I DIDN'T ENJOY WATCHING THE SCENES...''

Dangal was a film that depicted the lives of Haryana-based women wrestlers and how they struggled to become what they are today. Their story, the way their father raised them and coached them. The real Geeta and Babita Phogat happened to watch the film on the big screen, and they have expressed their feelings towards the portrayal of their lives in the movie.

While speaking to a popular news media, Geeta Phogat said, ‘’ I loved watching the entire movie on the whole, but I didn’t like the scene where I disrespect my father because I hated how I had treated him thinking I’m a pehelwan’’. Babita Phogat was euphoric to see their lives shown on screen and she added, “ We are glad that our story was made into a film and its a 99% accurate reflection of our lives, we would like to thank Aamir sir and the whole team of Dangal.’’

Geeta and Babita had their share of emotional moments throughout the film, and that is reflected in their reactions. They also were very proud of their father, Mahaveer Singh Phogat and very thankful to him for what he has done for them.
