Adirindhi, the Telugu version of Vijay's Mersal has finally made its way to the silver screen today, November 9. The film has taken an excellent opening in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions. The pre-bookings are strong enough for a dubbing film, and it is said to be the best opening ever for a Vijay film till date.
Two dialogues from the original version have been muted in Telugu. Dialogues in the comedy scene in which Vadivelu talks about Digital India are muted. A few phrases from Vijay's speech about GST are also silenced.
Adirindhi, the Telugu dubbed version of Mersal, was making its headlines last week for its delay in release to censor formalities. The film, which was supposed to release on October 27 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, was postponed due to this.
Now, the makers have finally got the censor certificate copy from CBFC Chennai. As there is no change in the content or the scenes of the film, Adirindhi has also been censored with a U/A certificate with the same running time of 2 hours and 50 minutes.
The film has got the green signal from the CBFC finally, and now, Thalapathy fans in AP and Telangana, get ready to witness Adirindhi from November 9. Northstar Entertainments, who are releasing the film, tweeted, "Censor Cleared. #Adhirindhi going to hit theatres on Nov. 9th. #Mersal @ThenandalFilms @actorvijay @Atlee_dir"
