Suriya's much-awaited courtroom drama 'Jai Bhim' directed by TJ Gnanavel was released today (November 2) on popular OTT platform Amazon Prime Video and has been receiving tremendous positive responses from fans and critics alike.
'Jai Bhim' trailer, that was released a few days back took us through the innocent and hardworking lives of an oppressed tribe who, even with no land to call their own nor a strong roof over their heads, find joys in simple things in life. However, as social injustice and brutality sweeps across these innocent lives, Advocate Chandru, portrayed by Suriya, battles for human rights.
'Jai Bhim' is based on a true incident that happened in 1995. It throws light on how popular advocate and judge Justice Chandru went beyond the call of duty to ensure that justice is served. Apart from Suriya, the film features Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Rajisha Vijayan, Manikandan, and Lijomol Jose in pivotal roles.
Within a few hours of its release, many celebrities and fans took to their respective social media handles to praise this thought-provoking and hard-hitting film. Yesterday (November 1), Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin released a statement after watching the film. He stated that the core issue of the film reminded him of his own time in prison when arrested in 1976 under MISA (MAINTENANCE OF INTERNAL SECURITY ACT, 1971) during the emergency period, and that his heart felt very heavy after watching the movie.
