The lockdown has resulted in theatres being shut down across the country. A lot of movies are being telecast on television, not to forget OTT platforms doing their bit. When a fan raised a question as to why small-scale movies that have been completed couldn’t be picked up by OTT platforms, BOFTA Dhananjayan who has produced many a good movie chose to explain. View his response below:
Small & medium films will be taken by OTT, only if they click at theatres. Many don't understand ths reality.

Well, this surely helps clear the air. Not just Dhananjayan, Nikilesh Surya, owner of Rohini Silver Screens, also jumped into the fray and said, “Revenue fetched by online and satellite sale is less than 25% of a movie's budget (Medium sized or more). Also almost all the movies fetch a price only after they release and become a hit, until then they don't have a value to them. Hence, currently it is not monetarily feasible.” (sic)
