Actor Vijay was part of the consequential search of the raid that took place on the popular production company AGS Entertainment. The raid began yesterday (5th February) and searches in some of the premises are said to be still continuing.
The IT department made an official press release now and on Vijay, it says “In the context of the issues of the prominent Actor, it is stated, that, his investment in immovable properties and remuneration received from the said producer for acting in the film is the subject matter of investigation in the present search. Searches in some of the premises are still continuing.”
While the process is continuing currently, former joint commissioner of Income Tax Department, Saravana Kumaran has elucidated us better on the matter. He shared that the search proceeding or Income Tax ride has come on AGS Entertainment and Vijay is only part of the consequential search, with regard to the salary he had received from the company, for acting Bigil.
Saravanan ensured that "There would have been solid evidence," and added that the authorities will be also be questioned as this is a sensitive case. When asked if there will be a punishment or prosecution on the case, Saravanan explained that IT is basically under civil law and that prosecution may happen in a very few cases of a serious offense of large concealment or foreign trade of black money.
