Today (September 25) marks the first death anniversary of SP Balasubrahmanyam. The legendary Singer, who has sung over 40,000 songs in 16 different languages, left a void that can never be filled in the hearts of Indians when he breathed his last on September 25, 2020, after a long battle with Covid-19. As a Singer, Composer, Actor and a Voice Artist, he had etched a forever name in the hearts of fans for decades together.
On SP Balasubrahmanyam's first death anniversary, thousands of fans took to social media to remember the legend. Many noted celebrities penned their heartfelt note remembering the legend. One such celebrity was Kamal Haasan. The ace-actor-cum-politician took to social media to write an emotional note for his "Annaiya Balu". He tweet in Tamil, loosely translates to: "People do become what they preach. My brother Balu dedicated his entire life to music. That's why he has become a voice today. He has left the world, but his soul still revolves around us." He also shared some rare images with the late star.

Mohanlal shared a throwback video of SP Balasubrahmanyam singing one of his famous songs in Telugu. He wrote, "In our hearts forever and always with his celestial voice that remains unparalleled. Remembering #SPBalasubrahmanyam Sir on his First Death Anniversary." Mammootty remembered him and noted that he "lives on through his heavenly voice."

SPB had sung numerous songs for various stars over his career spanning more than five decades. His last song was for Rajinikanth's much-awaited 'Annaatthe' which releases on November 4, coinciding with the festive date of Deepavali.
