ELEMENTS VIJAY HIDES!

The much awaited teaser of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Theri directed by Atlee was unveiled today, 5th February at midnight. This 50 seconds long teaser revealed and hid a lot of elements. One cannot completely get a hold of the plot, at the same time one doesn’t feel blank. This is the exact feel one should get after viewing a teaser and EUREKA, Theri teaser was one! 

 

A rhythmatic lineup of abstract shots which consciously ceases detail is an interesting element for which the editor, Antony L Ruben should be appreciated. The teaser assures one thing very clearly, Theri is surely going to have a well balanced light/fun moments knitted alongwith the action stunts performed by the Theri man. 

 

Now coming to the elements that were absolutely concealed. Theri boasts about a splendid star cast consisting of veteran director Mahendran, Radhika and the two heroines - Samantha and Amy Jackson. One does not spot even a frame of any of these artists. Even when actress Meena’s daughter, baby Nainika appears in few frames one cannot catch a glimpse of her actual look or any such detail. 

 

Even though the audiences are aware  that a film is an outcome of the comprehensive effort of a huge well equipped team, such promotional materials, rather than the film itself, are seen as a product presented by their beloved star. Keeping this in mind, one wonders why Vijay didn’t reveal these details and trigger the much required curiosity and expectation towards this film. George C Williams behind the camera seems to be very adamant (in a good way) in re-emphasizing his potential as the director of photography.
